Why people think about protection
A mortgage is often the biggest financial commitment people make. People often review their protection when they buy a home, start a family, change jobs or remortgage, so that the people who depend on them are looked after.
The types of cover we can help with
Life insurance
Life insurance is designed to help the people you leave behind, for example by helping towards a mortgage or other living costs.
Critical illness cover
Critical illness cover is designed to help if you are diagnosed with a serious illness that is covered by the policy.
Income protection
Income protection is designed to help replace part of your income if you cannot work because of illness or injury.
Every policy is different. What is covered, and when a policy pays out, depends on the insurer and the terms of the individual policy. An adviser will explain these clearly before you decide anything.
Please note: Protection plans typically have no cash-in value at any time, and cover will cease at the end of the term. If premiums are not maintained, cover will lapse.
How we help
- Looking at what cover you already have, including any through your employer
- Talking through what you would want to protect, and for how long
- Explaining the options and handling the application with the insurer
When we ask about insurance, we may need to ask about your health and medical history. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle this information.
Questions about protection
Do I have to take protection with my mortgage?
No. Protection is a separate decision. We will explain the options so you can decide what is right for you.
Can you review cover I already have?
Yes. We can look at what you have and talk through whether it still fits your circumstances.
